Most of you have probably already heard that a postage rate increase has been proposed for January of 2011 The post office has put up a spreadsheet with the details here:
New Rates in an Excel File
So far it looks like 5% across the board, but I'm sure I'll find variances as I drill into it.
Some what hidden, along with the rate changes, are some other changes. The move update error rate allowance will go down to 25% from 30%, Rigid flats will no longer be automatable. Further information can be found in the federal register notice.

Re: 2011 Postage Rate Increase
New forever stamps will increase in price, but the ones purchased at the lower price will be good forever. That's why they are called forever stamps. The next postage rate increase will be less inconvenient, thanks to “ Forever Stamps”. By issuing the first-class Forever Stamp, the Postal service eliminates the need for buying 1-or-2 cent stamps every time there's a postage increase. Any particular value disappears from Forever Stamps, which only bear the word “forever”.

I love forever stamps. I just wish the availiability on them was better. Our local post offices always seem to be out of them. I also would love it if I could get them in 3,000 coils, which is the coil size we use in house.
